Our Story
An Independent Autism Friendly Bookshop, specialising in books, games, comics, gifts and events for the local community. The shop was built in 1573 and has quiet spaces to browse on two floors, with a courtyard garden. There is a wide range of illustrated books.

We support local families and schools with community events for everyone. Guy runs a monthly creative writing group 'The Write Stuff' and our events are on Ticketsource
Meet The Makey family
Our family run bookshop was established in 2011 – we have created a safe and welcoming space for our local communit and are committed to making every visit special.
Adam and Guy run the shop and we welcome work experience students from 4 local schools during the Summer. Angela runs the events and our customers are great at helping with their suggestions and keeping us on our toes.
